I’m Tom Asai, a Japanese entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience working on the front lines of business.
I began my career while still in university, building corporate websites. From there, my work expanded into system development, and eventually into founding and exiting my own business.
Today, I specialize in M&A advisory and post-acquisition integration (PMI), working closely with companies to ensure that deals not only close, but actually succeed in practice.
Over the years, I’ve supported a wide range of businesses — from large publicly listed corporations to local small and medium-sized companies, as well as individual entrepreneurs.
Through this experience, I’ve developed a practical understanding of how business really works in Japan — not just in theory, but in execution.
In particular, my work on cross-border projects between Japan and Southeast Asia has highlighted the significant differences in how companies approach decision-making, risk, and growth.
These differences often determine whether a business succeeds or fails in Japan.
My role is to make those differences visible — and understandable — for a global audience.
